BAYELSA STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION.

SUPREME COURT CANCELLED BAYELSA STATE
 GOVERNORSHIP'S ELECTION 2019,DOUYE DIRI OF
 PDP DECLARED WINNER.

The APC's candidate, DAVID LYON was in serious preparation
of his inauguration which was suppose to take effect on the 14 of February 2020
when the supreme Court announced the cancellation of the
Election at Abuja.




On November 2019, Nigeria election body Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) declareyed Lyon of All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the 16 November governorship election with total of 352,552 votes, for scoring more than 25 percent.
For Inec result,Douye Diri of People's Democratic Party scored 143,172 votes.
Normally for Nigeria, Supreme Court judgement has the final say and no one can alters their decision.

WHAT LEADS TO SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT

On 12 November, 2019 Federal High Court at Abuja disqualified Degi-Eremienyo who tcontest as Lyon deputy for issuing wrong certificate to the inec.
Today, Thursday, the Supreme Court confirmed the decision of the High Court that David Lyon running mate, Degi-Eremienyo issued wrong certificate to Inec.
The court rule gives out that Degi-Eremienyo disqualification spoiled the join ticket that was used in running the 2019 election.

HOW BAYELSA PEOPLE REACT TO THE JUDGEMENT

As it is now there's alot of jubilation in Bayelsa State capital where David Lyon had prepared to hold the inauguration.
